HELLO! Thank you for your interest in working with me! If you have been directed here that means you and I see eye to eye aesthetically, which is the first step in us working together! There are a few special order guidelines I like to follow as a designer, which will be explained in detail below. My main goal here is to help you understand my personal process and parameters both as a designer and seamstress before we begin discussing your project!
I am passionate about this art form and would like to explain (in short) the process of a single garment, from the twinkle in my eye all the way to the final product. First an idea is born, then sketch, pattern drafting, pattern making, pattern grading(sizing), sample making, sample fitting(on a person of those sizes), and then the final product in the final fabrics. This entire process takes investment of time and a true labor of love for the craft. I like to consider myself a designer as well as someone who is capable of sewing. My intention is to not only provide you with a gorgeous garment for your next special event or occasion, but to provide you a garment that would achieve Wild Moon design and sustainability standards.

design/ sizing
The first prerequisite is the design shape and style would be something we already have in the collection wardrobe, something we are working on adding to the line currently, or a design that aligns with the Wild Moon aesthetic that could be moved quickly in the design process steps. The custom elements are as follows: length can be shorter or longer, color of fabric, and some design aspects can be added or subtracted.
Sizing is the second part of the WM design. As a petite woman, I always found it difficult to find clothing that would have proper fit. Wild Moon does cater to more petite sizing for the most part, so please check each design that interests you in the WM SHOP page for size charts and measurements. We can work with you if you are in the range of sizing but do not see it currently.
Fabric choices
To stay aligned with the eco friendly practices of Wild Moon, our main source of fabric comes from a dead stock warehouse. Dead stock is a term used for fabric left over from a production run of a garment. The fabric is woven and dyed for a specific design by a big box retailer or high end designer, but can be discarded due to a number of reasons. We have access to a limited number of yardage, which makes each of our garments truly unique.
When choosing your fabric, we are able to source several color swatches to pick from and can advise to which will be the most flattering for your design.
Fabric choices are limited to a cotton, linen, or a blend of either. This is because the patterns made by Wild Moon were designed for these fabrics specifically of a certain weight and textile. Different fabrications would result in different pattern making.
There are so many colors to choose from so lets have fun with it!
Time frame
Each custom order includes:
1 meet to go over fabric you’d like / measurements of your body
1 meet to do final adjustments / take final product
Upon meeting, a deposit that covers material costs will be asked of you. We also offer payment plans and several payment methods throughout the process of your garment(s) completion.
Please allow 3-4 months advance notice for Wild Moon sets, wedding, or special occasion attire as we want to get everything perfect for you!
